The Forever 21 Saga Continues: Part 3

The risk of ordering online is that you won't always like what you picked when it arrives and you try it on, so be very careful where you order from and what their return / exchange policy is!

The great thing about the Forever 21 website is that you can exchange / return for store credit items (excluding clearance) that you bought from the website in store.

I didn't end up liking all of the items that I ordered in the past couple of weeks from Forever 21, so I exchanged a couple in return for store credit and ordered these from the website today with my gift card!

Can you tell I love pink maybe a little too much? I have however forced myself to branch out into other colours beyond pink, purple and black as you will see.

I tried this dress on and absolutely love it! I'm going to pair it with my gold madden sparkle heels this summer :)

This one is really nice and a good length for work. The other great thing about it, in addition to being such a nice shade of cobalt blue, the pockets are real!

The website has a lot of items that are not in store and vice versa, which is annoying because if the website is sold out, this does not mean you can get the item in the store closest to you. And right now dresses online are selling out like crazy! I had a dress I absolutely loved in my online shopping bag last week and during the payment process it became sold out! I didn't think this was fair because I had already essentially called dibs on one but that's the way it turned out and now it is sold out!

The good thing is that if an item sells out very quickly they usually bring it back, so I have my fingers cross!

When I tried this dress on I liked it, but I'm not 100% sure that it really flatters me. I'm going to have to try it on again before I commit to it and cut the tags off of it!

I realize it seems like I order a ton of stuff online, and truthfully I go through fits and spurts, but I do not always keep everything that I order. I'm very diligent about trying items on and returning them if I don't like them.

It is really important to read the return policies on online purchases. Most of the time you can work it in your favour that you do not pay for shipping. With Forever 21 if you order over $60 in merchandise shipping is free! You do not have to keep everything if you don't want to, you just get a gift card for future use. So no matter what your money is committed to that store, which I don't think is necessarily reasonable, you should be entitled to a refund, but that is their policy.

Happy Shopping :)

When Telling the Truth: You Can't Always be Nice

I had an incident recently in which someone that I was close with acted terribly, with what I can only assume were selfish and bad intentions and above all unfairly. Whatever the reasons were, it was a disappointment to me.

I was confronted with a choice, and I made the one I believed to be the morally right and conscionable decision. I told the truth. There is no recourse against you for telling the truth, even if someone else doesn't want it to be told. For as nice as I am, I have an incredibly strong sense of self, and I know that what I did in response to their actions was the most appropriate thing to do given the circumstances, and I wouldn't change a thing. I was not mean or malicious, I told the truth to everyone involved. Maybe one day this person will realize this, but who knows, maybe they will stay in denial for a long time to come.
I realize that I expected with unwavering faith that this person would treat me as well as I treated them. It was a big mistake that thankfully was short lived!

The truth isn't always something one wants to hear, but in the end, as I have learned, it is necessary. Life doesn't always work out the way that we want it to, I don't think it does for anyone, but I'm not upset, nor do I regret what occurred.

This person went out of their way to try and punish me for telling the truth. How pathetic! There is absolutely no recourse upon me for telling the truth, which I told the person who called me to discuss these facts, and that they were wasting my time and I hung up on them. If you don't like what I have to say, don't listen or read it :) I was not in the wrong and I don't have to justify myself to anyone, a fact that I reveled in when this person called. I didn't answer their questions nor did I entertain anything they had to say. I said my piece, and now it's over. And this little blonde is pleased as punch!

If they had just be honest with themselves and those of us around them, it would not have ended up in such a terrible mess. And more so, didn't they realize that I'm not afraid to tell the truth? Did they not realize even for an instant how strong I am? Just because I was phased by your lies, doesn't mean I'm anything like you.

At the end of the day, it was just a blip in time for me, a bad experience, one that I learned from, and I will say this, it hasn't affected me as a person, what I believe or what I think of people. I am writing this to remind you the reader, that some people are sneaky, they are uncaring, petty and above all insecure, but it only takes a moment to recognize this.
The person who is responsible for this mess has some things to sort out on their own. And that is unfortunate but true. I had wanted to help them and gave them unwavering faith and support, until I was burned in the process.

But so what! One spineless weasel that passes through your life isn't anything to worry about! Besides, worrying about things like this gives you wrinkles! The next time someone treats you unfairly think this as you stare them in the eye, realizing how weak of a person they truly are:

And then get yourself out of that situation as soon as possible! Do not bother having a long conversation in which you try to rationalize with the weasel, they are unable to do so because they are too busy trying to come up with what they think the right answer for you is. There isn't a right or wrong answer when it comes to feelings, there is only the truth.

If a person has any type of backbone, sense of self and moral fortitude, they will easily be able to tell the truth. It is much more difficult to become a lying weasel - no matter who is pushing you in one direction or the other - than it is to tell the truth to everyone around you.

A very wise man once told me "Don't let the bastards get you down!" and ever since he said that, it has resonated every time I encounter yet another bastard. Let's be honest, the world is full of them. Unfortunately sometimes they trick you into thinking that they are a good person, but that soon becomes evident.

I have learned in this past week that some people are incapable of making their own decisions and are too concerned with what other people think or want them to do. Be the stronger, better person, and be one that is able to make decisions with unequivocal strength. Do what YOU want in life, not what anyone else wants you to do. This is your life, you've only got the one, so go out and live it exactly how you want to and above all else be happy!! Make the most of every single day, and wake up with a smile on your face every single morning!

Don't burn your bridges, they are your biggest support system. Live and love each and every day as if it were your last.

Treat the people who treat you well like gold, they are priceless.

The Forever 21 Saga Continues

One of my friends got on the dress bandwagon with me and I was MORE than happy to help her pick out some dresses that I thought would make her look like even more of a knockout!

Even though she didn't like all of them, we got 2 for her that she likes!

The other one we ordered for her was this one - super cute!

I love the contrast & look at the detail in the sash on the back!

At the same time I ordered a few accent necklaces just because they were super sale:

And this one:

And this one:

And finally this one:

It was under $12 for all 4 necklaces with tax because they were on clearance, and it allows me to switch up my accessories just that much more!

Live and Learn: What to do when you're disappointed

On a personal note, sometimes in life people disappoint you. Recently I was very disappointed in the actions of someone else. In this disappointment I came to realize that as much as it was a shock, I was not as broken up as I thought I would be. There are times in life when the actions of others just make you laugh and think that they're an idiot. Suit yourself right?

When all was said and done it took me about an hour to get over the initial shock and to shake my head and laugh and how ridiculous the actions of the person were.

I am an incredibly decisive person. I can make all kinds of decisions, even long-term decisions very quickly and have unequivocal faith in these decisions. I do have a very low tolerance level for indecisiveness. Nothing drives me crazier than a person who does not have the backbone to make a decision and stick with it. Even worse is someone who tells you that they have made a decision and then re-negs on it. I think this type of person is incredibly insecure. If you have a strong sense of self you're able to make decisions and stick with them. If you are unable to do this, better luck to you, you probably aren't going to have a happy life, because you can't even decide what makes you happy.

I realize with unwavering faith that I always expect the best from people and sometimes this ends in disappointment. Knowing this, the disappointment is far more brief than it ever was, because it isn't my mistake and I know that it's not my ineptitude that has caused it. The best way to deal with a person that cannot make a decision is to make the decision to never have anything to do with them ever again.

We live and learn every day, and what I've taken from the last few days is to always smile, no matter what happens. And if someone doesn't deserve to be a thought, remove them from your life, you will be far better off.

Frowning is an awful and ugly passtime, and this blonde things that you should never frown, and at the very least, avoid it at all costs!

In the end, I think the secret is that no matter what a person does to you and how they behave, be happy with yourself and have faith that everything will work out well for you.

Smile, be happy, go do the things you enjoy, and have a laugh at how ridiculous some people behave.
You deserve so much better than anyone that makes you frown. In the end, when you have no guarantee that tomorrow will come, make today a happy day! Be with the person who makes you smile when you wake up in the morning and when you go to sleep - live every day as happily as you can.

Cleaning out my Closet

It's that time of the year - spring cleaning, closet style! I'm going through my clothes to see what I do and don't wear anymore. Then I have to decide if I will give these items to friends and which ones I will put into a clothing donation bin.

I am also really keen to organize everything, to see what I have and then to put all of the clothes I want to keep into my wardrobe rotation. If they don't get worn within the year then they too will be given to another home.

I've started by organizing my shirts first, taking sweaters downstairs to my other closet for storage of winter clothes ad then I will tackle dresses. Then I will have to organize my dress collection by season. Did I mention I have an ample dress collection? How many dresses do you think would be too many?

I will post some pictures of the final organization - it's too embarrassing to post what is actually going on in my room right now!

It's Spring Time! Break out your Skirts Ladies!

Ladies it is time to ditch the pants and break out your skirts! Pants are for trudging around in the cold snowy weather, it's time to bring femininity back into your life!

Here are a few skirts available online right now to help you get into the swing of spring! Even if you don't think that skirts really suit you - you are dead wrong!

There is a skirt to flatter every woman's body - you just have to choose the proper one! Notice that I haven't chosen any long skirts here. I am too short for a nice long flowing skirt, they make me look like a stump at my 5'4.

Banana Republic A line skirt

If you are slender with narrow hips the A line cut will give the impression of being more shapely, and most importantly, prevent you from drawing attention to your lack of hips.

Banana Republic wild Animal Print

Gap Pencil Skirt

If you don't have a pencil skirt - stop reading this and go get one! It is an essential item that every woman has to have in their wardrobe!

Jacob banded skirt - throw in some colour!

Banana pleated colour block skirt

Pretty in Pink <3

Why shouldn't you be?

Jacob Pencil Skirt

Most retailers have pencil skirts, so take a look online or at your local mall. You need to get one of these!

Jacob tiered skirt - ok so you can't wear it to work, but it is really cute!
I tried this skirt on in the fall and it wasn't the most flattering on me, I think you need a really ample derriere to fill it out properly!

Amanda Uprichard - Petal Skirt - how feminine is this? I love it!

To one particular tall and leggy friend, I know you rarely ever (if at all) like anything pink, but you are long lean and glamourous - and you would be a stunner in something like this! Plus I know your mom & man would love me for getting you into something like this <3

This is a gorgeous skirt for work!

Personally for my height I prefer skirts that are a bit above the knee, when skirts hit the knee they do not flatter my stature....

This hot little number is on it's way to my house!

I love sequins right now!

Forever 21 Online: Shirts and a new dress!

Over the weekend I was browsing a couple of my favourite websites for pieces to add to my spring & summer wardrobe.... naturally I found several items that I really liked! The best part is that all of these items totalled under $90 with tax and I got free shipping for spending over $60!

Yes sweaters for spring, even with our recent heat wave!

I was looking for a hot pink tank top to pair with my gold glitter heels and I tried one on at artizia which was $98 and I would have had to buy a bandeau in order to wear it. I didn't like it nearly as much as I do this hot pink tank, and I love the price even more - it was under $10!

Just love this!

I have never really been a fan of green but I recently bought a green top and liked it so maybe I will like this dress as well!

Yes I am buying light sweaters for spring, because I will free at work!

Another long and lean light weight sweater for summer in the office!

This is the same as the hot pink tank and for the price, it's well worth it!

Not too bad!6 tops and 1 dress for under $90 taxes in! Ladies you should really browse the sale section of that website! Even the regular priced items are so reasonable that you can get a few new things for spring and summer without spending over $100 - who can argue with that?

Marilyn Monroe: Forever Timeless

Recently for a school assignment I did a project in which I referred to Marilyn Monroe. Here are a few of the pictures and quotes that I found that I didn't use but really like.

I did use this famous image
