If you are anything like me you absolutely love cosmetics that are great for your skin and consider them an investment! You are willing to consult with a beautician and take the time to maintain a healthy skin regime.

I don't need to tell you this, but I will remind you, that your face is the first thing people see, and you should always put your best face forward!

If you have not already created a healthy skin regime, you need to do that immediately! What are you waiting for??? Wrinkles??? You need to have a consultation and get a routine and regime established with a line of skin care products that will hydrate your skin! Biotherm is the perfect line of products which has moisturizers for both men and women. So ladies, your man doesn't have to tell his friends that he uses (even though a lot of his friends probably do in secret) a skin cream, but you really need to get one for him and put that cream on him yourself if that's what it takes!

If you are a local reader, in the Toronto or Mississauga area, get yourself into the Bay Square One and see my friend Dianna at the Biotherm counter! She will set you up with a skin care regime that you will be able to maintain for years to come - after all consistency with a tremendous product is key!

The best appliance Ever! The Mini Cupcake maker by Babycakes!

To coincide with my move, I have to get organized and get all of the things that I will need when I move back out. I set out to get some deals on items that I need in preparation to move and discovered the best appliance ever!

It caught my eye when I was heading toward the T Fal frying pans were on sale. A flash of pink caught my attention - I initially thought it was a waffle iron!

It turns out that this is a mini cupcake maker!! It makes 8 mini cupcakes in a matter of minutes! I could not contain my excitement in the store!

I snapped a picture in the store and sent it to my friends, absolutely elated that such a thing exists!

You had better believe that this got put in the cart and came home with me!!

How amazing does it look? I'm going to hold off using it until I move - sorry my dear girls, I will be waiting for the house warming party!!

And another amazing product that I discovered but didn't purchase yet is the Cake Pop Maker!! Genius!

This pink cupcake maker absolutely made my day! Even better was that it was on sale! And in case you're wondering, I purchased it at Canadian Tire, but you can probably get it at most major retailers that have small kitchen appliances!

I've made a major life decision!

This post is long overdue but will be a short one - just a teaser for now!

I have been so incredibly busy at work for the past few weeks that I have barely had any time for sleep never mind the rest of life or my blog!

For those of you who know me, you will know that I am a very decisive person. I can make a decision very quickly that I can live with for virtually the rest of my life.

Yesterday morning I made a major decision, I am going to move to Downtown Toronto! This country girl is leaving the fields behind her!

You may not know it, but a couple of years ago I lived in Vancouver, right down by Stanley Park and English Bay. While I miss Vancouver dearly and would love to split my time between my home and there, my next move is to Toronto. The country life is peaceful, tranquil, and all of what I am not interested in right now!

Spending the summer downtown within walking distance of everything is going to be absolutely fabulous! And when I want to put the city behind me, I can always go visit my parents or go to the cottage!

Lovely Linen and Colour Blocking for Spring!

Naturally this week I went online shopping! My intention was only to browse, to break up the monotony of the week and then I found this dress and I had to have it!

Forever 21

I love the colours for spring and I absolutely love linen no matter how annoying caring for it is!

I am naturally pale so this colour combination is great to liven me up, and no I will not use a tanning bed!

This week has been pretty stressful but receiving this parcel in the mail yesterday was definitely a high point!

This is definitely my most favourite piece of colour blocking that I own. I can't decide if I like the jade / teal combination or the linen feel more.

What is your favourite colour blocking combination?

The Best Types of Clothes Hangers!

I am going to discuss a very serious subject within my life, or at least in my closet! I am actually blogging about how to hang your clothes! Not only do I have an outrageously large clothing collection, I also have an outrageously large collection of clothes hangers.

When you have as many clothes as I do, you must learn how to hang them properly!

You may not be aware, but there are very specific hangers for each item of clothing.

Here we have a standard clothes hanger. Basic, simple, you have at least a few of these in your closet. What you may not realize is that there are far more types of hangers available to you to help you organize your closet.

What ever you do, do NOT use the metal style hangers that you get from the dry cleaners. Those are temporary hangers and do not belong in your closet! You can probably put them in the recycling bin - so you should really see if that is an option where you live!

Here is one option for hanging Dresses:
This type of hanger lets you hang your dresses and tops by their hanging straps. These types of hangers are functional however, if your closet is extremely full like mine, they aren't the best option.

The most difficult part of these types of hangers is that they make each item of clothing longer because they are hung by their straps. This is problematic for dresses which may already be long or long tops even longer.

In my closet this option does not work well because I have two rails. In order to maximize space I want all of my clothes hung as high as possible.

This style of hanger lets you hang your dresses by their straps or sleeves which keeps them hanging higher. They are my favourite style hanger for this reason.

These hangers are fairly functional as well however you have to hang your items by their hanging straps which does not allow you to maximize your closet space.
Another way to maximize your closet real estate is to use pant hangers. Simple as they sound, they let you hang multiple pairs of pants on only one hanger! I don't own a ton of pants, but these hangers are great for your dress pants! The felt covered pant hangers are the best ones that I have found because they help to keep each pair in place.

Skirts are a whole other issue entirely!

Do not be fooled into putting a single skirt hanger such as this one in your closet! It is a total waste of space! Even if you only own a few skirts, they are taking up valuable real estate that could be used by an other item in your wardrobe! Or even just giving your more space between your clothes.

Tiered Skirt Hangers such as these ones are your best option!

There are two very different style of skirt hangers shown here. The one on the right is far superior to the style on the left.

The skirt hanger on the left requires you to fold over your skirts across the hanger and causes creases to each of the skirts - depending of course on how often you wear them. If you don't wear your skirts very often this type of hanger is annoying because of the creases it causes.

The skirt hanger style on the right, or the one shown below is the best style because it lets you hang several skirts on one hanger, and holds them in place wrinkle free! That way whenever you are in the mood for wearing one it's ready for you!
I use tiered skirt hangers like theses ones, they are functional, practical and do not wrinkle your clothes! They also double as long shirt hangers if you are like me and find hanging straps annoying and cut them out of your clothes!

As you can tell I have put a considerable amount of time and thought into how to hang my clothes, what can I say? I really love them! Also I don't have a walk-in closet (yet) so I need to maximize the space in my closet as much as possible!

In search of a new purse! Will it be Tory Burch?

I need a new large black leather purse. The bag I'm looking for has to be durable, classic and a go-everywhere type of bag that can withstand an unreasonable amount of stuff being crammed into it.

A couple of years ago I bought myself the Coach large black leather Julianne bag for myself for Valentines day when I was living in Vancouver.

I knew immediately that I would absolutely love this bag with it's silver hardware and purple satin lining for a very long time to come. I even had them wrap the bag as a gift and had a card made out

To: Me

From: Me

I'm not kidding, I actually did this! And I took the bag home and opened up the present I had bought for myself :)

I continue to adore this bag, however, one of the handles snapped and broke inside the leather wrapping. I took the bag to a Coach boutique to see what could be done, and they were great and sent the bag for repair.

My bag was returned to me a couple of weeks later, still broken! Apparently it could not be repaired to be identical to what it should look like, so they just sent it back broken??? I am still more than annoyed about that - and that was a year ago!

I called the boutique I had been dealing with and they referred me to a customer care number for north america. At first I was offered 40% of the value of the bag toward a new one. I didn't want a new one! I just wanted mine fixed! After spending a few hundred dollars on it, I just wanted it repaired! After some complaining on my part they offered me 50% of the value of the bag back on a gift card. I accepted that, however, it would have been far easier for them just to fix my bag somehow.

I used the gift card to buy a clutch while I was in New York City last summer, however since my experience with them and their lack of information regarding the lack of repair to my bag, I don't think I will ever be buying a coach bag again.

I am finally ready to replace this bag all together and I think I will be going for a Tory Burch bag this time!

I want this one! The Tory Burch Amanda tote is what I have my eye on!

I think this purse is big enough for all of the stuff I keep in my purse.... what do you think?

I want a large black leather purse that is strong, functional and classic. I think this one will be the best one for me for the next couple of years!

Girls in Boots can Take over the World

Last night I was on my way out of a party at a friend's place, when this guy who I hadn't even spoken to said:

"Can I tell you a guy truth?"

I was a little taken aback about what he might say so I tentatively answered "Sure....?"

And he says to me "Girls in boots can take over the world!"

I was wearing my knee-high flat Steve Madden Catepult black leather boots, I just laughed.

I could really believe that if I was wearing these:

I dream of these boots!! I could absolutely take over the world is these Louboutins!!
