Forever 21 Order!

So I caved and ordered a couple of dresses from Forever 21.... did I mention I also bought 2 last night?? Am I slightly dress obsessed? Just a bit! But if you ask me for my opinion, and you're obviously going to get it by reading this, dresses are the most flattering, pretty and economical outfit choice! 

Just one piece of clothing can make your entire outfit for the day or night, pair with some cute shoes and accessories and your good to go! 

This dress I can wear into the office with tights and a sweater and it looks very comfortable! 

I ordered this top in green which was also available in green and red but both colours have sold out throughout the course of the day! 

Look I'm even moving away from a wardrobe that is 95% black clothing! I have a lot of pink in my wardrobe as well, but as long as the dresses are different cuts it doesn't matter! 

Now I am second guessing whether or not I should have chosen this in blue or red..... I will find out when it gets here! 

Forget the pants! No matter what your body shape there are perfect dresses out there to flatter you and make you feel oh so pretty <3 

Polka Dot Dresses: One of my favourite styles

I don't really like patterns, and have very few if any patterned items of clothing. I do however love polka dots! 

Love the classic 50s black & white polka dot style that I wore it for my University formal a few years ago! 

Spring and Summer Dresses!

Even though we got more snow where I live this weekend, that doesn't mean that I cannot browse around for spring and summer dresses! I love the spring and summer time, especially because you don't need tights or pantyhose to wear dresses. Women out there, you know what I'm talking about! Pantyhose are absolutely awful to wear! 

I found several dresses that I thought I would share to get you into the spring time mood! 

Asymmetrical dress from Forever 21 

I have a hot pink dress like this one that I got from Urban Outfitters and it is such a fun dress to wear! Forever 21 only has this red colour but urban has or had several other colours that were all really fun! It's a great dress to wear out to a club with your girlfriends <3

This dress is super cute and inexpensive! It also comes in a really nice shade of blue!

21- Super cute work dress! 

It's probably a bit too young for me but I know a few young girls that may look great in this dress ;) 

I'm curious about the length though, because 21 dresses are typically very very short and they do not carry all of the dresses online in stores. So sometimes you can order something and it is just way too short! The great thing however is that whatever you buy online you can return in store!

This is another dress I am considering purchasing, I think it would be really cute for going out in..... decisions decisions!

Strawberry Mousse Oreo Cookie Crumble

This week I set out to make a dessert for someone with the request that it be strawberry flavoured. I browsed through a couple of my baking books and a few websites until I found what I hoped to be the perfect recipe. 

I found a recipe for Strawberry Mousse Squares but I decided to make it into a crumble with ladened with strawberries. 

The Original Recipe is this: 

• 2/3 cup boiling water
• 1 pkg. (85 g) JELL-O Strawberry Jelly Powder
• 18 OREO Cookies, crushed
• 1/4 cup non-hydrogenated margarine, melted
• 1 pkg. (250 g) PHILADELPHIA Brick Cream Cheese, softened
• 2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, divided
• 3 cups small strawberries, sliced, divided

Stir boiling water into dry jelly powder in small bowl at least 2 min. until completely dissolved. Cool 5 min., stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, mix cookie crumbs and margarine; press onto bottom of 13x9-inch pan.

Beat cream cheese in large bowl with electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add jelly, beating well after each addition. Gently stir in 1-1/2 cups each of the whipped topping and strawberries. Spoon over crust.

Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Cover with remaining whipped topping. Serve topped with the remaining strawberries. Store leftovers in refrigerator. The recipe is courtesy of Cooking with Philly - google them for more great dessert and entree recipes!

I made my own personal take on it by doing this:

I crumbled the Oreo cookies and used about 30 of them instead of 18, the 18 didn't seem to be enough for the pan I was using.

I also used about four times as many strawberries as it called for on the top!

I took the larger pan of the mousse crumble in to work to test it on my co-workers! I love baking but I can get nervous when I'm trying a new recipe. And since I wanted the recipe to be really good I figured I would make a test batch and see what the reactions were. The reactions were pretty favourable so I tested some myself and thought it would be ok to give the crumble mousse cake I had intended to for a certain person's birthday.

So all of that was done to make this! Enough for one person's birthday! One  singing candle later I had a strawberry mousse cookie crumble birthday treat!

 I missed the Grammy Awards because I was doing homework.... do not even get me started on this injustice! All I can say is thank gawd for YouTube and Google! 

Missing all of the gorgeous gowns was a real let down as I was doing lab after online lab, so I'm thankful that there was so much media coverage of the event! I hardly missed anything!

She is just so lovely and soulful, I cannot wait for her to perform in Toronto! It is not often that I actually purchase CDs but I did ask for her CD for Christmas - the 21 album - and I got it and it hasn't come out of my car stereo since!

Confessions of a Bath & Body Works Addict

It is no secret to anyone that knows me that I am a complete Bath & Body Works Junkie! I love shower gels and body lotions that moisturize and smell great! This is part of my collection:

Secret confession: I love to spray my bed before I crawl in to sleep. It's just that much better getting in to bed at night when it smells like vanilla or lemon!

And it's all because they send me tantalizing emails like this one! 

Most of the shower gels I bought during their semi annual sale. I love to smell great and am a smart shopper :) It's a great savings and I usually go a couple of times and end up with huge heavy bags that I can hardly carry!
