Some things I want for my Condo!

As I mentioned in my last post, I'm on the hunt for the perfect ottoman to double as a coffee table. It has to be able to store sheets etc for my sofa bed, for when my friends need a place to stay downtown. Because I need it to double as a coffee table the lid needs to flip over and either accommodate a tray or have a built in tray.

I saw this one online at Costco of all places:

I have looked at it online a few times and I'm going to go into the store on Thursday and check it out. My hesitation is that I do not like the brown footing. I want to paint the living room grey and have black and grey / charcoal furniture, so the brown does not fit into the colour scheme.

A friend sent me a pic of this ottoman today which is a definite possibility if the lid flips over into trays:

This needs to be examined as well but it's another strong contender. Even though it might look brown in the photo she told me that it's black!

When I went online to the costco website just now to save the picture to show, I found this ottoman which is another strong possibility!

Here is another view of the same ottoman from costco:
Solid black and nice wide size! It needs to be inspected too!

My friend also sent me this picture and I am so enthralled by these - I really want them!!

I don't know which I love more, the CHEETAH or the ZEBRA!! What do you think? An animalistic mix of both?? I was saying that I couldn't find any nice cocktail & wine glasses and lo and behold look what's hiding in Pier One!!

Moving is hard work!!: Keep Calm and Make Tea

In case you missed it, I decided to move downtown and take possession of my place June 16! As exciting as that is, the moving is not!

I've already started packing and organizing because I have sooo much stuff! I'm not even taking most of my furniture here because I'm going to be buying new stuff. The biggest items will be moving all of my clothes and shoes. I have also been finding boxes of stuff that I completely forgot I had - what a bonus!

Since I am a natural born shopper, I have been shopping for things to move back out for quite a while, but the shopping has increased a lot lately!

I won't buy bigger pieces like a couch until I actually move in but a lot of the smaller items I have already purchased!

I was in home sense today looking for an ottoman or potential bar stools when I came across these! Not exactly an ottoman but they are great and I need them! I had been looking at boring old stainless steel canisters when I found these and they came home with me!

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect ottoman, bar stools and a shag rug, so if anyone has any suggestions as to where I can find a great one in the GTA please let me know!

Lush Favourites!!

Whenever I pass a Lush store it is tremendously difficult to not go in.... yesterday I passed one and bought these!

I picked up two of my absolute favourite Lush products!

I love this coco lotion because it isn't greasy and has a light lasting scent.

Honey Trap Lip Balm is my absolute favourite moisturizing lip balm! If you haven't tried it yet, you need to go get it or order it.

Procyon Wildlife -Save an Animal: Save a Life

Yesterday a bunny was found in the parking lot at work, sitting in a parking space with his eyes closed not moving. The girls in the store called me because they didn't know what to do about him.

Using a towel I gently picked him up and put him in a box. He didn't resist much and was very lethargic, obviously if he was getting so close to people.

I called the Etobicoke branch of the Toronto Animal Services and they told me that they would take him in. I drove there after work, where the lady behind the counter argued with me that because I didn't find him in etobicoke they would not take him- and they would just euthanize him anyway. I called the neighboring municipalities and no one would take him, or they would, but rather than letting him have a chance at life - they would euthanize him!

What is the point of animal services??? The woman behind the desk was the rudest woman I have ever seen, especially considering she works in animal services. She'd be far better off as a prison warden! I gave her a piece of my mind and took my new friend with me!

The animal control officer in my area gave me the name of a wildlife rescue that has a vet on staff that I could take him too.

I settled bunny in for the night:

In the morning when I had checked on him he had eaten a bit of the hay and veggies we had given him and looked a little more lively.

We called the rescue and they said they would take him and my parents were nice enough to drive him up there for me- and they made a donation to the center as well!

I spoke with the vet this afternoon and she said she thinks he has an eye infection and has him on antibiotics and pain killers to treat the infection. Poor little guy!! He was so sweet!

The wildlife center is: Procyon Wildlife

I had no idea that animal services in the city of Toronto would not take and treat wild animals - especially defenseless bunnies!! There is something seriously wrong with this - and I am so grateful that there are people dedicated to treating and rehabilitating wildlife.

If you are able in any amount, please join me in making a financial donation to Procyon to help the dedicated individuals who run this center.

I've found the perfect place for me!

A couple of weeks ago I set out to find a condo downtown. I've always been very happy in the country, however, being twenty something I go out downtown a fair bit, and most of my closest friends are downtown, so I decided it was time to move!

Ever the decisive one I made this decision while driving home one night (after driving downtown and back several times that week) from downtown and realizing that I could just live there and save myself the 45 to 60 minute commute.

After I made this decision I set out to see some places. It was a tedious process but I worked with an agent and she found me a great place in under a week!

I am really excited to move downtown! So much so that I have already started packing and buying things for my new place!

I have also chosen my colour schemes and have started looking at new furniture.

Of course I have also been clothes shopping this week.... but I will post a few pictures of things that I have bought for the condo!

My Latest Denim Obsession: Yoga Jeans!

It can typically take me several attempts to find a pair of jeans that I really like. I avoid jean shopping like the plague, and I have to admit that over the winter I have gotten really lazy and just worn tights instead.

I was recently in a favourite store of mine, RW & Co and was discussing denim styles. I will say that in all the times I have been in the store, and all of the clothing I have tried on there, I have never tried on denim. I'm not sure exactly when my aversion to denim started but it has been pretty strong as of late.

I wasn't sure what to expect but I was fairly certain that the girls I was talking to would give me an honest opinion so I took their advice and tried the yoga jeans on!

The yoga jeans tag was very intriguing....

Is it really possible to wear jeans to yoga? I'm not sure that I would but the comfort level that this suggests is incredible!

Off I went into a change room, and I came back out, did a stroll around the store and took the yoga jeans to the cash!

I bought these dark denim skinny's and I absolutely love them! They are my new favourite jeans!

If that wasn't enough I went back in this afternoon and purchased these jeans because the first pair are so comfortable!

Not only are these fabulous jeans at a reasonable price - they are made right here in Canada! That fact is the icing on the cake! I strongly believe in supporting the north american market in as many ways as I can and this is a fabulous way to look great while doing it!
